The price of altcoins largely depends on Bitcoin, and the lower their own market capitalization, the stronger this dependency is - when the price of Bitcoin drops significantly, altcoins depreciate even more. On the other hand, they can demonstrate much more impressive growth since the already high market capitalization of Bitcoin hinders its growth by tens or even hundreds of times - for it to experience such growth, a very large pool of funds equivalent to trillions of dollars must be poured into it. However, if it's a new altcoin with a capitalization of just a few million dollars, the infusion of only a few will already ensure multiple growth. Therefore, the altcoin market, especially those outside the largest ones, is riskier but potentially more profitable.
